foto-ruszenie - photo exhibitions in Jelenia Góra

As every year we invite you from the 1^st to the 15^th of October to places in Jelenia Góra to see photographic exhibitions of young artists from our town and surrounding regions. In this edition you will also see works of three guests from the Czech Republic.

This year edition is special as it is dedicated to and full of feminity. Women will dominate in photography, in the movie and in the lecture hall. This feminine, very subtle and atmospheric ambience will be disturbed by some traveller - a photographer, who as the only man will show his works in this edition of foto-ruszenie. The idea to present the feminine point of view is not some kind of protest or an answer to the contemporary social - political issues, it just shows the world from a perspective of women's sensitivity

During two weeks of the event, apart from feminine photography we will also see the movie "Fur: An Imaginary Portrait of Diane Arbus" with an excellent playing of Nicole Kidman as the main character. We will, as well, meet Katarzyna Karczmarz - a member of Association of Polish Art Photographers, who will tell us about women in photography.

Intensive preparation for the event has been on since January. Every participant has to prepare a theme, take photos, choose place where their exhibition will take place and do everything in due time. They also have to prepare a vernissage what may involve a lot of stress as for some participants this will be the first public address.

In this year foto-ruszenie will take place in pubs known from the previous editions. However, we will also meet in new places like: Tokaj Pizzeria and Pub, LOT Cinema and Orient Express. We would like to thank all the owners of the places, who have opened their doors for foto-ruszenie.

The coming edition has been taken under the patronage by local media and by all-Polish photographic portal Fotopolis. The number of our sponsors has increased. Thanks to this every participant will receive beautiful flowers ( Flower Décor florist's); we will listen to popular jazz standards performed by Seba and Pit Duo; thanks to Grzegorz Szymański (participant of 2009 foto-ruszenie) representing Foto 25 every person coming to an exhibition will be able to leave their entry in the Visitors' Book, and Karkonosze Numismatic House partially financed the printing of commemorative postcards FR 2010.
